Kenyon Williams
PRINCIPAL Percussionist
Dr. Kenyon Williams has worked throughout the United States as a professional performer, educator, arranger, and clinician. He has performed as a guest soloist and section member for numerous orchestras throughout the country and currently serves as Principal Percussionist with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony. Dr. Williams is a Professor of Music at Minnesota State University Moorhead where he directs the acclaimed “Fuego Tropical” Percussion and World Music ensemble as well as the MSUM Percussion Ensemble. His interests have taken him abroad for extended study and performance opportunities in Ghana, Cuba, Brazil, Indonesia, and Trinidad. He recently served two terms as Chair of the Percussive Arts Society World Percussion Committee and currently serves as a member of the PAS Board of Advisors. In 2013, Dr. Williams released “Homage,” a solo CD containing a wide variety of newly commissioned works for percussion. Dr. Williams is a Yamaha performing artist and endorses Innovative mallets, LP Instruments, and Coyle Steel Drums.
