2025 YOUNG PEOPLE’S CONCERTS
Each year, thousands of children are bussed to the concert hall during the school day for our annual Young People’s Concerts. All 4th grade students in Fargo, West Fargo, and Moorhead public schools attend these concerts free, thanks to sponsorship by The Learning Bank. Elementary age students from area private schools, home-schooled children, and students from neighboring communities also attend as space in the concert hall allows, for a small fee. Not only is this the first experience hearing a live symphony orchestra for many of them, but this is also the age at which children are choosing which instrument they will play in their school music program. This concert always includes at least one piece that highlights each instrument of the orchestra.
This year, the daytime Young People’s Concerts are Friday, April 4, at
at NDSU Festival Concert Hall.
The program will be repeated for the public as the
Kids in the [Concert] Hall FAMILY MATINEE Concert
Saturday, April 5 at 2:00 pm at the Fargo Theatre on Broadway.
Thank you to
The Learning Bank, Moorhead Rotary, and the

YOUNG PEOPLE'S CONCERTS
As we all know, these days are not normal. The in-person Young People's Concerts previously scheduled for for Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at NDSU Festival Concert Hall, were canceled.
Under the direction of Associate Conductor Jane Linde Capistran, however, these concerts were reimagined in a virtual world. The performances still still introduce children to the various instruments of the orchestra at a time when they are considering which instrument they might like to study in their school programs. Instructional materials still will be created to help teachers create unique teaching opportunities for their classes.
Special thanks this year to event sponsors: Moorhead Rotary, Kiwanis Club of Fargo, The Learning Bank, Xcel Energy Foundation, and Your Classical MPR.
